CVE-2026-40293  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-213  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/openfga/openfga/pkg/server/config to version 1.14.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Information Exposure via the runPlaygroundServer process in cmd/run/run.go and the playground configuration in pkg/server/config/config.go. An attacker can recover the preshared API key by sending an unauthenticated request to the /playground endpoint when the built-in playground is exposed. The HTML response includes the configured preshared credential, allowing the attacker to impersonate the server’s API client and issue authorized requests against the OpenFGA instance, exposing and modifying authorization data.
