CVE-2026-50149  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-295  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/projectcontour/contour/internal/dag to version 1.33.5 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation in the processing of requests to virtual hosts configured with both tls.enableFallbackCertificate and jwtProviders. An attacker can bypass authentication controls by sending requests without a valid token when the client does not provide a recognized TLS SNI or omits SNI entirely. This is only exploitable if both tls.enableFallbackCertificate and jwtProviders are enabled simultaneously on the same virtual host.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring that tls.enableFallbackCertificate and jwtProviders are not enabled together on the same virtual host. Remove one of the two settings to avoid the invalid configuration.
