CWE-350  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/safedep/vet/mcp/server to version 1.12.5 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to DNS Rebinding due to insufficient validation of the Host and Origin headers. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive data by luring a victim to a malicious website, enabling the attacker to read information from the report database through MCP tools.

Note: This is only exploitable if the server is running in SSE mode on the default port with access to the report database and the victim is lured to an attacker-controlled website.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by using the stdio (default) transport for the SSE server.
