How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/VictoriaMetrics/VictoriaMetrics/app/vmauth to version 1.147.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Brute Force via the requestHandler in app/vmauth/main.go. An attacker can brute-force authentication by sending large numbers of unauthorized requests because failed logins are returned immediately. This lets a remote attacker sustain high-rate auth guessing against the VMAuth authentication endpoint with minimal cost, increasing the chance of unauthorized access and leaving operators with only noisy invalid-auth-token errors to detect the attack.
