Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Privilege Management in the ActiveDirectoryIdentityProvider process. An attacker can gain elevated permissions in Kubernetes clusters by editing the distinguished name (DN) of group entries in the Active Directory server's database for groups to which they belong, provided the group search parameters include the edited group in the search results and the attacker knows the password for an AD user in the edited group. This is only exploitable if the server is configured with an ActiveDirectoryIdentityProvider resource, the spec.groupSearch.attributes.groupName is empty, and the attacker has the ability to edit part of the DN of group entries in Active Directory.
