CWE-639  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade go.temporal.io/server/service/worker/batcher to version 1.29.5, 1.30.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key via batch operation. An attacker can perform unauthorized operations such as signaling, deleting, or resetting workflows or activities in another namespace by manipulating the namespace name value and knowing or guessing specific workflow IDs and, for signal operations, signal names.

Note:

This is only exploitable if the server is configured to allow internal components cross-namespace authorization, such as with the internal-frontend service or equivalent TLS-based authorization for internal identities.
