How to fix?

Upgrade helm.sh/helm/v3/pkg/downloader to version 3.18.4 or higher.

Overview

helm.sh/helm/v3/pkg/downloader is a Package downloader provides a library for downloading charts.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary Code Injection via the writeLock function. An attacker can execute arbitrary code by supplying crafted chart templates containing code in fields of Chart.yaml that will be carried over to a Chart.lock file. In case the Chart.lock file is linked to a file that can be executed (e.g., bash.rc or shell script) when dependencies are updated, this will result in unwanted code execution.

Note: This affects the Helm SDK when the downloader Manager performs an update; While helm dependency build can write a lock file when one does not exist successful exploitation requires a symlinked lock file to already exist.
