CWE-400  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for edu.gemini:gsp-graphql-core_2.13.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Uncontrolled Resource Consumption ('Resource Exhaustion') via the GraphQL query processing. An attacker can cause a denial of service by sending specially crafted queries that trigger a StackOverflowError. This is only exploitable if the application has untrusted users.

Note:

No specific knowledge of an application's GraphQL schema would be required to construct a pathological query.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by interposing a sanitizing layer between untrusted input and Grackle query processing.
