CWE-732  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource when the copy or archiving operations are performed on symlinked files. An attacker can manipulate the permissions of the resulting file by exploiting the fact that the permissions of the symlink itself are applied instead of the permissions of the linked file. This could potentially open up attack vectors depending on where build artifacts end up being copied to or un-archived.

Note: This is only exploitable if the files are world readable and writable.
