Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to HTTP Request Smuggling due to improper handling of control characters in messages which are forwarded to the RestEasyHttpRequestDecoder class. An attacker can cause Netty's HttpObjectDecoder to go into a BAD_MESSAGE state while the Connection: keep-alive header is in effect. This can cause subsequent client connections to be refused if they reuse the bad open connection, such as in the case of a load balancer.
