Overview

org.keycloak:keycloak-services is an open source identity and access management solution for modern applications and services.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Predictable from Observable State through the legacy client-initiated account linking endpoint in IdentityBrokerService and LinkedAccountsResource under the OIDC identity brokering component. An attacker can link a victim’s account to an attacker-controlled external identity by sending a forged /realms/{realm}/broker/{provider}/link request with a valid-looking nonce and hash after tricking the victim into authenticating. The vulnerable flow accepts the legacy client-initiated linking URL and uses the hash to authorize the link operation, allowing an attacker-controlled OIDC client to complete the linking process without the victim’s consent. Once linked, the attacker can log in as the victim through the external identity provider and take over the account.
