Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature in the certificate.verify method in lib/x509.js. An attacker can relabel an existing PKCS#1 v1.5 certificate as RSASSA-PSS and still have it pass chain verification, by altering the unsigned outer signatureAlgorithm field, because _verifySignature() selects the padding scheme from the issuer certificate's signatureOid and signatureParameters rather than from the scheme the child certificate declares. The signature must still come from the issuer's key, so no forgery is possible, and this only matters to applications that make decisions based on a certificate's declared signature algorithm, such as a policy that accepts only RSASSA-PSS.
