Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes via the PATCH /api/settings endpoint, which writes the entire request body to persistent settings without a field whitelist. An attacker can downgrade authorization and disable authentication for the entire application by sending crafted requests that set security-critical fields, thereby exposing protected routes to unauthenticated access.
