Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature via PassportHelpers.ts in the makeProfileInfo function, which fails to check the verified flag on OAuth profile emails and the email_verified claim in ID tokens before accepting them as authenticated. An attacker who controls an OAuth provider account with an unverified email address can supply that email to impersonate another user or gain unauthorized access to resources tied to that email identity.
