How to fix?

Upgrade @backstage/plugin-search-backend-module-elasticsearch to version 1.8.7 or higher.

Overview

@backstage/plugin-search-backend-module-elasticsearch is an A module for the search backend that implements search using ElasticSearch

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization in AuthorizedSearchEngine when all document types are denied by authorization policy. An authenticated attacker can issue a search query that, after authorization filtering removes all permitted document types, proceeds to query the underlying Elasticsearch engine with an empty type list rather than returning an empty result set, potentially exposing search index metadata or results that should be inaccessible. The fix short-circuits execution in both AuthorizedSearchEngine and ElasticSearchSearchEngine when the authorized document type list is empty.
