Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Symlink Attack via the isPathWithinParent function. An attacker can overwrite arbitrary files outside the intended extraction directory by supplying a malicious archive and leveraging pre-existing symbolic links delivered through a git clone operation. This allows the attacker to redirect file writes to sensitive locations on the filesystem without user interaction beyond standard repository cloning and application execution.
