CWE-843  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade devalue to version 5.9.3 or higher.

Overview

devalue is a JSON.stringify, but handles cyclical references, repeated references, undefined, regular expressions, dates, Map and Set.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Access of Resource Using Incompatible Type ('Type Confusion') via the fromViewInfo parse operation in src/operations.js, where a custom reviver can replace an ArrayBuffer backing buffer with a number or array-like value. When a typed array constructor receives such a value, it allocates storage unrelated to the size of the serialized input, allowing an attacker to trigger unbounded memory allocation and crash the process.
