How to fix?

Upgrade mariadb to version 3.2.5, 3.3.4, 3.4.7, 3.5.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to SQL Injection via object key interpolation in SET clause expansion in text-encoder.js, query.js, and utils.js. When an object is passed as a query parameter with the permitSetMultiParamEntries option enabled, each key is expanded into a column name identifier in the generated SET clause. Prior to the fix, keys are interpolated directly as backtick-quoted identifiers without escaping any backtick characters they contain, allowing an attacker who controls an object key to break out of the identifier context and inject arbitrary SQL.

Note: This is only exploitable if the permitSetMultiParamEntries option is explicitly enabled.
