Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Authentication for Critical Function in the Chat Trigger node when configured with n8n User Auth authentication. An attacker can gain unauthorized access by circumventing the authentication check.

Note:

This is only exploitable if the Chat Trigger node is configured with n8n User Auth authentication (non-default).

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by limiting workflow creation and editing permissions to fully trusted users only, using a different authentication method for the Chat Trigger node, or restricting network access to the webhook endpoint to trusted origins.
