CWE-863  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade @n8n/permissions to version 0.47.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization when saving credentials. An authenticated user can access plaintext values of secrets stored in external vaults by referencing a secret's external name in a credential, bypassing intended permission checks.

Note: This is only exploitable if an external secrets vault is configured and the attacker knows or can guess the name of a target secret.
