Overview
vm2 is a sandbox that can run untrusted code with whitelisted Node's built-in modules.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Control of Dynamically-Managed Code Resources via the NodeVM process when an array-shaped require value is supplied with nesting enabled. An attacker can execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the host process by creating an inner NodeVM with a custom builtin allowlist, thereby escaping the intended sandbox restrictions.
