CWE-434  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade code16/sharp to version 9.20.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload via the ApiFormUploadController function. An attacker can upload arbitrary files by manipulating the validation_rule parameter to bypass all file type and extension restrictions.

Note:

This is only exploitable if the storage disk for uploads is configured as public, allowing direct access or execution of uploaded files.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring the storage disk used for uploads is strictly private.
