How to fix?

Upgrade codeigniter4/framework to version 4.1.6 or higher.

Overview

codeigniter4/framework is a PHP full-stack web framework that is light, fast, flexible, and secure.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary Code Execution via the old() function. Remote attackers may inject auto-loadable arbitrary objects with this vulnerability, and possibly execute existing PHP code on the server.

Note: If the user cannot upgrade to the fixed version, it is recommended to not use:

  1. old() and form_helper
  2. RedirectResponse::withInput() and redirect()->withInput()
