Overview

getgrav/grav is a Modern, Crazy Fast, Ridiculously Easy and Amazingly Powerful Flat-File CMS.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key via the /admin/accounts/users/{username} endpoint. An attacker can obtain sensitive information belonging to other users by accessing unauthorized resources with insufficient access controls.

PoC

  1. Log in with a non-privileged account, also known as a zero-privilege account.

  2. Access another user’s endpoint, for example: GET /admin/accounts/users/admin

  3. Observe the HTTP 403 Forbidden response.

  4. Inspecting the page source reveals sensitive data, such as the admin email address, displayed within the <title> tag.
