CVE-2023-44381  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-284  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade october/system to version 3.4.15 or higher.

Overview

october/system is a System module for October CMS.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Access Control when the cms.safe_mode is enabled. An attacker can execute arbitrary PHP code by crafting a special request to include PHP code in the CMS template. This is only exploitable if the user has editor.cms_pages, editor.cms_layouts, or editor.cms_partials permissions and cms.safe_mode is enabled.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by removing the specified permissions from untrusted users.
