Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in the POST /two-factor process. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to user accounts by submitting unlimited TOTP guesses without restriction, potentially leading to full session compromise. If two-factor authentication is configured as optional, the attacker can further disable two-factor authentication for the compromised account via POST /account/profile, allowing future logins with only a password. For administrator accounts, the attacker may also reset another user's two-factor authentication secret via POST /api/v1/users/two_factor_reset.
