CWE-116  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade symfony/symfony to version 6.4.41, 7.4.13, 8.0.13 or higher.

Overview

symfony/symfony is a PHP framework for web applications and a set of reusable PHP components.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output via the HtmlSanitizer component that fails to properly detect and strip percent-encoded BiDi (bidirectional text) marks and specific Unicode whitespace characters because the regex lacked the proper decoding steps and /u modifier. This allows for visual spoofing and logic bypasses.
