Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Weak Password Recovery Mechanism for Forgotten Password via the updatePassword function. An attacker can enumerate valid user accounts and forcibly change another user's password by submitting a known or guessed username and email pair to the unauthenticated password reset endpoint, causing immediate invalidation of the old password and potential denial of service for the legitimate user.
