CWE-863  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade wwbn/avideo to version 29.0 or higher.

Overview

wwbn/avideo is an Audio and Video Platform or simply "A Video Platform".

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization the category retrieval logic in objects/categories.json.php and objects/category.php. An attacker can enumerate non-private categories and their user-group restrictions by requesting categories.json, bypassing the intended access controls. The default request path skips user-group filtering entirely, and the ?user= path passes a boolean that is treated as users_id = 1, causing the filter to use the admin user's group memberships instead of the current user's.

Notes

  • The endpoint is publicly reachable and does not require authentication.
  • The response can expose category metadata and the users_groups_ids_array access-control mapping for restricted categories.
