Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Insufficient Entropy in the salt generation functionality. An attacker who has gathered information on the running system that may or may not be available without an additional exploit - such as file paths and usernames - can escalate privileges by brute-forcing a salt offline, and then forging a legitimate password recovery code for the admin user.
