CWE-613  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade apache-airflow-providers-fab to version 3.9.0rc1 or higher.

Overview

apache-airflow-providers-fab is a Provider package apache-airflow-providers-fab for Apache Airflow

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Insufficient Session Expiration in the session cleanup. An attacker can maintain unauthorized access by reusing a previously compromised session cookie even after the legitimate user or administrator resets the password.

Note: This is only exploitable if the FAB authentication manager is used with the [fab] session_backend=database configuration and the attacker already possesses a valid session cookie.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by switching to the secure-cookie session backend, which does not support central session deletion but is not affected by this issue.
