Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the PDFContentScrapingStrategy process, specifically when _get_pdf_path() re-downloads targets using Python requests without validating egress destinations. An attacker can access internal services and exfiltrate sensitive information by supplying crafted URLs that redirect to internal addresses or leverage DNS rebinding, with the extracted PDF text included in crawl results.
