Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

GitPython is a python library used to interact with Git repositories
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Specified Type of Input via Git.ls_remote forwarding caller-supplied URLs without check_unsafe_protocols validation. An attacker who controls the URL argument can supply an ext:: remote-helper URL (e.g. ext::sh -c ...) that causes git to execute arbitrary commands when the victim's git installation permits the ext transport. Repo.merge_base and IndexFile.move additionally forward caller-controlled **kwargs directly into the git argv without check_unsafe_options validation, exposing an unguarded option-injection surface analogous to CVE-2023-40267 and CVE-2026-67323.
Note: The ls_remote RCE path requires that the victim's git configuration permits the ext transport (e.g. protocol.ext.allow=always); git >= 2.38.1 with stock configuration refuses the transport at the git layer, though GitPython adds no defense-in-depth guard.
