Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

GitPython is a python library used to interact with Git repositories
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Behavior Order via submodule checkout destination validation in git/objects/submodule/base.py. Submodule checkout destinations can pass the containment check and be accepted before cloning has altered the filesystem, allowing an attacker to place submodule metadata or working-tree content outside the intended repository boundaries. This includes NTFS/HFS metadata-alias bypasses, invalid Windows path components, NUL bytes in submodule names, and destinations nested inside another submodule's Git directory. An attacker who controls a malicious repository can trigger arbitrary path writes on a victim's filesystem when the victim clones or updates submodules.
