CWE-862  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade jupyter-server to version 2.6.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Authorization in the gateway handlers, where gateway-specific kernel and kernelspec endpoints are registered separately from the standard server handlers. An authenticated low-privileged user can send requests to gateway-proxied kernel endpoints in ways that bypass authorization checks enforced by the standard handler stack, gaining unauthorized read, write, and execution access to kernel resources.
