Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in GifImagePlugin._seek when processing a multi-frame GIF image. The decompression bomb check calls Image._decompression_bomb_check but, prior to the fix, assigns the oversized dimensions to self._size before the check raises an exception. This means a failed decompression bomb check still permanently updates the image size, allowing an attacker to bypass the decompression bomb protection and cause a crash via a GIF image whose frame dimensions exceed the configured pixel limit.
