CWE-835  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade pillow to version 13.0.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Infinite loop via TarIO.__init__ in src/PIL/TarIO.py, where a maliciously constructed TAR archive can supply a file entry with a size value that causes the computed block offset to be zero or negative. When iterating over TAR entries to locate a target file, the seek position does not advance, resulting in an infinite loop that crashes the process.
