Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

PyJWT is a Python implementation of RFC 7519.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature via the prepare_key method in jwt/algorithms.py, where DER-encoded public keys are accepted as HMAC secrets without rejection. An attacker who controls a public key (e.g. an RSA or EC public key in DER format) can supply it as the HMAC secret to forge valid JWT signatures, because the library computes an HMAC over the token using the public key bytes rather than a private secret. This allows full authentication bypass by producing tokens that pass signature verification.
