Overview

pypdf is an A pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming PDF files

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Memory Allocation with Excessive Size Value in the parsing of the /ToUnicode entry of a font with unusually large values. An attacker can cause excessive memory consumption by crafting a PDF file with a large /ToUnicode stream and triggering text extraction.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by applying the changes from PR #3944.
