pypdf is an A pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming PDF files
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity in read_until_whitespace in pypdf/_utils.py. An attacker can trigger long runtimes by supplying a PDF stream that calls this helper on a long run of bytes without whitespace. This makes parsing hang or slow to a crawl while the library scans and accumulates the input one byte at a time, delaying or blocking processing of the document.
