How to fix?

Upgrade pypdf to version 6.21.2 or higher.

Overview

pypdf is an A pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming PDF files

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Excessive Iteration via _read_standard_xref_table in pypdf/_reader.py, where a PDF file containing a cross-reference (xref) table with a declared size far exceeding the actual file size causes unbounded memory allocation. An attacker can supply a malicious PDF to trigger this condition and crash the process.
