Malicious CVE NOT AVAILABLE CWE-506  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Avoid using all malicious instances of the Sentinelone package.

Overview

Sentinelone is a malicious package. This is a "dependency confusion" package, which means the package name is based on existing repositories, namespaces, or components, it aims to trick users into downloading a package that contains malicious code.

In December 2022, threat actors impersonated SentinelOne by uploading fake software development kits (SDKs) onto PyPI. The SDKs contain fully functional SentinelOne clients, but the packages also contain malicious backdoors that are only executed when called on programmatically, as opposed to during installation.
