Overview

vllm is an A high-throughput and memory-efficient inference and serving engine for LLMs

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Uncaught Exception via the cache_salt parameter in request protocol handlers across multiple entrypoints (chat completion, completion, responses, pooling, and scale-out). An authenticated attacker can supply a cache_salt value containing forbidden characters such as @, /, \, or NUL bytes, or exceeding the maximum allowed length, causing these values to reach downstream cache backends (LMCache) without sanitization and resulting in a crash or denial of service.
