Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization in the authorization process in UserDeactivateView, UserActivateView, and delete in wger/core/views/user.py due to improper gym-scope checks when both the attacker and victim have gym=None. An attacker with the gym.manage_gym permission and gym=None can permanently delete, deactivate, or reactivate any other user with gym=None by sending crafted requests to the affected endpoints.
Note:
This is only exploitable if the attacker has been granted the gym.manage_gym permission and both the attacker and victim accounts have not been linked to any gym.
