Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Collapse of Data into Unsafe Value incomplete validation of raw string arguments in certain IMAP command parameters (such as criteria, search_keys and attr). An attacker can cause commands to hang or trigger timeouts by supplying specially crafted input ending with a literal continuation marker, resulting in server misinterpretation and denial of service. This can be exploited by sending malicious input to affected command arguments, especially in multi-threaded environments where commands may be pipelined.
