CWE-843  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade nokogiri to version 1.19.4 or higher.

Overview

nokogiri is a gem for parsing HTML, XML, SAX, and Reader.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Access of Resource Using Incompatible Type ('Type Confusion') in the initialize_copy_with_args function. An attacker can cause a process crash by passing a non-Node argument, such as a Namespace, which leads to an out-of-bounds memory read. This is only exploitable if application code incorrectly calls the protected method with an invalid argument type; it cannot be triggered by untrusted input or normal use of the public API.
