Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition in the touch process. An attacker can cause permanent data loss by exploiting a race condition between the check for a missing path and the subsequent file creation, allowing them to create a file or swap a symlink at the target path before the file is truncated.
