CWE-670  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade coreutils to version 0.7.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Always-Incorrect Control Flow Implementation due to improper verification of the only_delimited flag in the cut_fields_newline_char_delim function. An attacker can cause non-delimited lines to be included in output by specifying a newline character as the delimiter with the -s option, potentially resulting in unintended data being processed by downstream scripts.
