Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Input Validation via the are_files_identical function. An attacker can cause silent data loss or make the process hang indefinitely by supplying non-regular file inputs such as FIFOs, pipes, or infinite streams, which are drained before comparison operations are performed.
