How to fix?

Upgrade gitoxide to version 0.36.0 or higher.

Overview

gitoxide is a command-line application for interacting with git repositories

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Handling of Windows Device Names through the manipulation of reserved Windows device names such as CON, CONIN$, and COM1 in Git repository references and file paths. An attacker can disrupt operations or mislead users by displaying deceptive messages that appear to originate from a trusted application, by creating or cloning repositories with specially crafted names that interact with system devices.

Note

This is only exploitable if the Git client does not sanitize input names to prevent interaction with device names.
